Daan van der Gouwe (1965) is a Dutch sociologist working as a drugs researcher with the Utrecht-based Trimbos Institute since2005. Daan is involved in many international projects targeting harm and demand reduction or evaluation of drug policies. His current activities concern drug checking, online drug monitoring, the coordination of the Dutch Harm Reduction Network and in the steering Committee of Correlation. Recent publications include “Harm reduction services in the Netherlands Recent developments and future challenges (2022)” and “Understanding Drug Use in Dutch Prisons: A Call for Improved Research and Care”(2023,).
