About

Mathieu Grondin is a pioneer of nocturnal governance in Canada. In 2017, he founded MTL 24/24, a citizen-based organization aimed at supporting local nightlife through various initiatives including the Night Council, a citizen consultation table for night owls, and Montréal au Sommet de la nuit, a yearly international conference event on nightlife management. Since 2020, his organization has been a partner of the City of Montréal for the strategic development of Montreal's economy and nightlife culture. Through his organization’s work, Montréal will adopt its first nightlife policy next December and has become the first city in Canada to provide 24-hour licenses to cultural events.
