Thomas Sakschewski is professor for event management and technology at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences. He studied psychology and business administration (MA). Previously, he was a lecturer at HTW Berlin, HWR Berlin and Beuth Hochschule Berlin as well as a guest lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney. Since 1994 he has worked in responsible positions with different fields of responsibility such as event management, project management or technical management for trade fairs, congresses and agencies. He is the author of numerous publications in the field of event management. These include the standard book on security planning "Security Concepts for Events", which is now in its third edition. His current research focuses on the security and sustainability of events.
