Born and raised in Berlin, it comes as no surprise that the city’s unique club culture inspired Leonardo to get digging himself throughout the capital’s many clubs and record shops. Playing at several bars and clubs led him to meet other fellow vinyl-lovers, and that’s how the DJ collective Handwerk got started in 2018.The proximity to the many different event spaces overlapped strongly with his architecture studies and awakened his interest in learning more about the many different typologies of Berlin clubs, their development and today's urban planning challenges. His interest is reflected in his bachelor thesis, which is an urban planning analysis, categorization and location of potential event spaces. With his master thesis he developed a design with the focus on combining living, working and event spaces in an inner-city artists' quarter.
