Dr. Jörg Fachner is Professor of Music, Health and the Brain and Co-Director of the Cambridge Institute of Music Therapy Research at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. He introduced social neuroscience paradigms to study music therapy processes and outcomes. He received his doctoral degree in medical science (DMSc) in Germany 2001 by studying Cannabis induced changes of neural correlates of consciousness (EEG) during music perception. In 2006 he published an edited book on ‘Music and altered states’ (JKP, London), providing a variety of aspects and overviews on the topic. Since then, he has widely published on music therapy and altered states related topics.
