Music cultures between museum past and lived present

Culture

The development of musical genres and the cultures associated with them are readily subject to cyclical laws that transport them from insider tips to underground and popular zeitgeists to yesterday's music with oldie status. But in addition to these cycles, there are also parallel processes, time-delayed and influenced by special conditions, which keep such musical cultures alive in some places - with numerous events - while elsewhere they are already being museumized in their retrospective.

But how do popular music cultures of yesterday and today find their way into museums? Who are the people who come up with museum and exhibition concepts - and what kind of visitors come? What alternative concepts are conceivable for bringing together the living of today and the influential of yesterday?
