Dr.-Ing. Jakob F. Schmid is the initiator of the german research and urbanist blog/network stadtnachacht (since 2011) and one of the promoters of the »Nachtökonomie«-Approach in Germany. Jakob is the author of the groundbreaking report »stadtnachacht – Management der Urbanen Nachtökonomie« (2014/2015) – the first empirically based contribution to emerging issues around nightlife, night-time economies and urban development in German cities. He published several papers on nightlife related topics. He works as an urban designer and planning consultant in Hamburg. Jakob is one of the curators and founding partner of the NIGHTS – Stadt nach Acht conferences. Since 2011 several lectureships for urban planning. He holds a PhD in Urban Planning.
