Hello and welcome to the future: Model Spaces for long-term use on public and private spaces are a mainstay in cultural and urban policy designs in order to provide and sustain access to space for the next generation of culture. Transdisciplinary digital urban tools are used by city administrations and cultural organisations to reduce bureaucracy and improve access to public and private space. Self-organized actors co-design and improve city development processes, with cities supporting and subsidising those actors. We're on our way; what's going on today, and how can we collaborate to reach that future on a global scale? Let's look at what's already going on in Amsterdam, Berlin, and Vienna to see how we together can collaborate towards a future roadmap.
- What tools (instruments, techniques, and structures) improve cultural initiatives' ability to self-organize, access, and provide free space for cultural events?
- In cities, what user models for Model Spaces are being developed?
- What role can real estate and institutions play in enabling access to space for the next generation of culture?
